new information present in the last section read.

activity center.

Anticipatory set:

Students
will be asked to recall the literary terms of simile and metaphor.

will explain the difference between the two terms

Two
passages will be selected from the new reading and written on the board.

will copy these sentences in the notebooks.

will identify if each of the sentences are either a simile or metaphor.

Students
will share their results orally with the class. They
will explain the type and comparison of each sentence.
Procedure:

will be asked if they have any questions about the reading from the previous
night.

reading selection. These
