Objectives:

will utilize their knowledge of the story to take a quiz.

will review the material taught in class by partaking in a game/quiz orally
before the quiz.

will recall the characterization, imagery, symbols, plot and setting to
answer a variety of questions.
Materials:

Homework
from previous night: six questions about the material from pages 52-72
in the novel.

Engagement/
Anticipatory set:
-
Students
will be asked to think about the title of the novel, Fahrenheit 451. This
will be written on the board.
-
They
will be told to write this in large print on a sheet of paper.
-
Around
the writing Fahrenheit 451 students will be asked to briefly brainstorm,
through drawing and words, to illustrate how this title ties into the novel.

Students
will be asked to share their results with the class.
-
I
will explain that this was not the initial title Ray Bradbury had intended
for the book.

I
will give examples from other literary pieces where the author changed
the title to fit the content of the book.
Procedure:

Students
will be asked to arrange themselves into 2 teams.

A
representative will be designated by the team to keep score.

Students
will be select to answer the questions by method of quickest response. If
the answer is incorrect, the other team gets the chance to answer the question. If
that team fails to answer the question correctly, any person within the
class may answer the question but will not receive points for their answer.

will take the quiz I have created.
