Reflection on Portfolio
This is my debut of my acting career. I have provided for you a short video clip of me teaching. You will see me teaching a math problem on how to solve equations to my sophomore integrated math class. It will hopefully give you a short glimpse of how I communicate with my students in my classroom.
I have found in math that it is very important that I can explain what I am doing clearly and step by step. Hopefully this example will portray this idea to you. So get out your popcorn and get ready for the best video clip of all time!

Reflection: This part of the portfolio was a huge eye-opener to me. To actually see myself teach was a strange, but definitely a useful experience. While watching the few minutes of class that I recorded, I was able to pick up on some good and bad teaching habits that I have already acquired. I noticed that the atmosphere of my classroom was generally positive, and I also noticed that most of the students were eager to participate. I also noticed that I tend to talk to one side of the room, which is something I need to improve. I also recognized that I need to create a better atmosphere for students to respond to my questions. I have too many students calling out answers, and this does not give everyone the opportunity to think through their thoughts.

I think that taping myself was a great way for me to see what I need to improve upon, and also what I am successful at while I am teaching. The students also definitely enjoyed being videotaped.
