It is essential that every classroom has established a classroom management plan. The largest aspect of this is to determine what behaviors are expected of the students and what the consequences are for not following these behaviors. It is also important that students have a say in what the classroom plan should be. If a teacher creates the plan without consulting the students, then the students may not take the plan as seriously.

( This bulletin board is a constant reminder to my students as to what behaviors I expect from them when they are in my classroom. )
The following are behaviors that I would expect from all my students:
- Students should be prepared for class each day. This includes bringing a notebook, textbook, pen or pencil, assignments and a calculator.
- Students should be courteous and respectful to their classmates, the teacher, and any other visitors.
- Appropriate language must be used at all times.
- Students should be seated and ready to work when the bell rings.
- Students should follow all directions and listen carefully.
If the above behaviors are not followed then the proceeding consequences would be used:
- First offense: Student receives a warning.
- Second offense: Student receives a detention with the teacher and parent phone call is made.
- Third offense: Student receives an administrative detention and a parent phone call is made.
