Reflection: These four video clips demonstrate what I believe to be effective communication strategies in conveying ideas and information to the students. When communicating it is important that a teacher appropriately use eye contact, interpret body language, verbal statements and acknowledge student responses. An effective teacher knows how to ask questions and stimulate discussion by for example helping students articulate their ideas and thinking processes and encouraging students to ask questions and take risks. In fact, the video clip entitled "Student/Teacher Interaction:Answering Questions most effectively demonstrates how I helped a student articulate her ideas. In the same way the video clip entitled " Explaining the Activity 2" effectively shows how I conveyed the directions for the completion of lab "Cleaning Pennies".
