"Proposal Writing Workshop"

A writing workshop titled "Breaking Through the Barriers to Proposal Writing" is being offered on Thursday August 25th for faculty, staff, postdocs, research personnel, and students. The following topics will be covered:

* Confronting the myths about writing
* Overcoming the major obstacles to writing
* Varying the patterns to sustain momentum
* Managing a successful grant application

The workshop is conducted by Dr. Robert A. Lucas, Director, Institute for Scholarly Productivity, San Luis Obispo, CA and is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. The workshop will run from 9 am to 3:45 pm with a break for lunch.

The cost for the workshop is $285.00. The University's BEST program may be utilized by Faculty and Staff to offset the cost of the workshop (http://www.lehigh.edu/~inhro), click on "Training and Development", then "BEST Registration Form"). The remaining costs may be covered by departmental or personal funds.

"Scholarly Writing Workshop"

A one-day workshop to improve and enhance your scholarly writing.
    -Friday, August  26th,  9-1 pm

Details:

This one-day workshop to improve and enhance your scholarly writing is being sponsored by  the Vice Provost for Research and the Faculty Development Office.

The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Robert A. Lucas, Director of the Institute for Scholarly Productivity, San Luis Obispo, CA. 

The workshop on scholarly and professional writing is intended for academics who are writing less that they want and need to do.  The workshop examines the factors that keep scholars and researchers from accomplishing the writing they want and need to do.

** Varying the writing patterns to sustain momentum
** Achieving success in academic publishing
** Managing a successful grant application

Registration is required!

The fee for the workshop is $250.  This workshop qualifies for the University's BEST program which will cover 75% of the fee.  The BEST form should be completed and submitted promptly after registering to ensure a seat at the workshop.
