Writing Across the Curriculum
Letter to the campus:
I am very pleased to announce the hire of Dr. Gregory Skutches as Lehigh's Writing Across the Curriculum Coordinator. This position, a new part of our faculty development program, is charged with providing leadership, faculty support, planning, resource development, and program assessment for the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program.
Greg earned his B.S. in Biology from Moravian College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Lehigh. A stellar teacher and an expert in composition, rhetoric, and argument theory, Greg comes to us from DeSales University, where he taught courses in first-year composition, American literature, 20th-century world literature, and advanced expository writing.
Greg is available to assist faculty, individually and through workshops, in the development of assignments, teaching methods, and course designs that foster improvements in student writing within disciplinary contexts. I hope you'll have a chance to meet and welcome
him upon his arrival. His office is in Fairchild Martindale Library, room 642. His email is grs206@lehigh.edu, phone 8-4932
In closing, I'd like to extend special thanks to the many individuals who contributed to this successful search process, especially the members of the search committee (Lynn Columba-Piervallo, Mike Groover, Betsy Fifer, Bob Thornton, Ed Lotto, and Jack Alhadeff).
Greg Reihman
