Glorifying God through Relationships with Teammates

               FCA 10/16/06

October’s Theme is Relationships. This first week, we will explore how our relationships with teammates relate to our walk with Christ. Consider the following:

1)      Why is it important to embrace all your teammates for each of their individual  strengths?

2)      Why it is necessary to support your teammates who are not exactly the best performers on the team? In what ways can you support them?

3)      Referring to verse 26, how do you deal with individual success when the team fails, or vice versa?

1)      What is the best way to take pride in your own work while still keeping the team and God first?

If you have time……..move to this:

1)      Discuss how our opportunities to bond as a team give us an opportunity to spread the word of Christ but still be respectful of others’ beliefs.

·        Team unity is important. There are good ways and there are also bad ways with which to deal with problems on a team. The Bible tells us that there is a proper way to be proud of what we accomplish, so long as we keep things in perspective and know that the good of our team comes first, just like God should come first in our own lives.

·        Remember that as we go throughout practices, our actions are constantly watched. We are watched by our teammates to see what being a Christian is all about. If we boast or pout in the wrong ways, it will be noticed by those around us. It is important to play close attention to the relationships we have with our teammates and make sure they are those of which God would approve.

Ephesians 4:16

“From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part.”
