“The Enterprise Systems Center (ESC) is committed to helping student learn, while simultaneously providing value for our clients. We believe that our research should be driven by industry needs and enabled by close partnerships and collaboration.”
– Dr. Emory W. Zimmers, Jr.
Director, Enterprise Systems Center
Professor, Industrial and Systems Engineering
The ESC engages primarily in applied research in areas encompassed within enterprise systems engineering and often includes new or emerging areas of operations research. This is accomplished through long-term relationships with industry and government working to increase global competitiveness. The ESC also partners with the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department, centers, institutes, and other departments within Lehigh and other universities to foster innovation and student learning.
Our core mission includes developing world class practitioners as well as future leaders. Leadership development is a critical component in effective student preparation and provides the skill sets to enable rapid transition from an individual technical contributor to an organizational leader. This is accomplished through course content, a leadership minor, hosting the student chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and programs such as the Innovation and Leadership Residency (ILR).
