Short Courses

Each year, the Energy Research Center (ERC) presents on-campus short courses that focus on issues relevant to electric power generation. Specifically designed for utility company personnel, each course deals with some aspect of the engineering fundamentals underlying the design, operation, maintenance and life-extension of power plant equipment. These continuing education programs evolved from ongoing energy research at Lehigh University by the faculty and staff of the ERC.

Additionally, short courses can be designed for a utility's specific needs and presented in-house at a utility location. With a class of fifteen or more engineers with similar interests, host utilities have found that in-house courses enable them to more efficiently accomplish their training goals. They benefit from the convenience of scheduling to minimize work disruption, and, typically enjoy significant cost savings, particularly in travel and living expenses for course attendees.
