Taino Ceremonial Ax

Because the Taino did not emphasize war, this ax was mainly used for ceremonial purposes.  Their lack of weapons was a clear disadvantage in their resistance against Columbus and the Spanish.  They are documented as mounting a sizable resistance to the Spanish invasion, but the results of such actions are well known.  Ceremonial artifacts show the advanced religious and social techniques of the Taino people.
