Vitae:

Shane Allen Para was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts on August 11, 1979 to Richard and Debra Para. During his early years, he lived in Massachusetts with his mother and stepfather, Stephen Parker, two older brothers, Danny and Eric, and an older sister, Bridgette. While they did not live together, Shane also had three younger siblings, Sean, Meghan, and Rachel, who all have been a large part of his life. At the age of 12, he moved to Louisiana and completed his primary and secondary education in the St. John the Baptist Parish public school system. While in high school, he was an active member of the varsity tennis team.

In the fall of 1997, he began his undergraduate curriculum at Lehigh University where he majored in Materials science and engineering. In spring, 2001, he received his Bachelor’s degree and decided to stay at Lehigh to pursue his Master’s degree in the same field. Shane is expecting to graduate in the fall of 2003 at which point he will take some much needed vacation time.
