Much great work related to issues of equity and community at Lehigh is already being done on campus, as you will see below and on our News & Events page. This alphabetical listing is by no means an all-inclusive list of the programs and offices at Lehigh. Instead, it serves to highlight a mere handful of them, in order to provide visitors to this web site with a sense of what they might find at the University.

Asian Cultural Society (ACS)
The Asian Cultural Society (ACS) is an organization that serves to recognize and celebrate all Asian and Asian-American cultures. Through the sponsoring of cultural festivities, educational programming, and social events the organization also hopes to contribute to the effort of increasing the Lehigh Community's awareness of a diversifying nation. AIS was created to strengthen the bond among international students at Lehigh. AIS offers a place for international students and internationally aware students to meet and socialize. The goal of AIS is to raise awareness of different countries and ideas and to host events and speakers related to these themes. The AIS enriches the Lehigh student body and adds a different perspective of the world through the eyes of international students.
B.A.L.A.N.C.E
Lehigh University's Black And Latino Alumni Network for Community & Equity (BALANCE) aims to serve the needs and strengthen the relationships of Black and Latino alumni; to engage and involve alumni in the University's initiatives in order to influence and advance the ideals of an equitable and inclusive Lehigh community. Specifically, their objective is to advocate, influence, improve and advance the ideals of an equitable and inclusive environment by providing University leadership with input to influence the policies and practices on diversity. Black Student Union (BSU)
The Black Student Union (BSU) is a socially and politically conscious organization that strides to spread awareness of African and African-American culture and politics. The Lehigh University Community Service Office was established in the fall of 1996 to provide a coordinated effort for students, faculty and staff to engage in service to the greater Lehigh Valley area. Currently the office has contact with over 100 local agencies that is always looking for volunteers.
The Lehigh University Greek System is an integral part of residential life on the Lehigh campus. The offices of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs and Residential Services strive together to provide comprehensive services to Lehigh's Greek system like no other university in the country.
Lehigh University's Global Citizenship Program is a cross-college co-curricular certificate designed to attract students from all fields, including engineering and science, business, arts, humanities and social sciences. Envisioned as a "backpack" – or a set of courses and experiences that any student can fit into her/his major – the program requires students to examine the questions of meaning and value associated with the theme of "citizenship" within today's "global" world.
The Graduate Student Life Office is dedicated to making graduate study at Lehigh a connected, enriching, and gratifying experience. It helps Lehigh graduate students to take advantage of numerous programs and services, which can include everything from broad social and networking opportunities to details as small as photocopying. The office also offers professional development workshops and numerous resources to help graduate students to settle into their new life at Lehigh.
LGBTQQIA stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex and Ally. All faculty and staff of Lehigh are cordially invited
to join this group, which helps foster and sustain a
welcoming climate on campus for LGBTQA people.
At Lehigh, multiculturalism is about recognizing, accepting and celebrating differences within our campus and surrounding communities. The Office of Multicultural Affairs at Lehigh is a great place to begin an individual exploration of various cultures, ideas and identities.
The Movement is a a student-led group whose goal is to create an environment at Lehigh where all students, faculty, and staff can feel welcome to express their individuality in a safe community atmosphere.
The mission of The Women's Center is to foster a campus climate in which all women can work to achieve their personal and professional academic, research, and service goals in an equitable, supportive, and intellectually-challenging environment.
