"VOLLEYING": IMPLICATIONS
The findings in this survey suggest that:
- students are conscious of seeking variety as a means of improving discussion
- there is consciousness of strategies to improve discussion and to improve community
- once again, students show that they have adopted the posting vocabulary
- once again, students see that discussion advances thinking
- some higher level responses like weaving probably cannot be forced and probably will be rare
- students recognize that the more steps in the discussion cycle, the more important the serve is
- community responsibility does not yet extend to providing a reason for or an acknowledgment of absence for not posting
- dead-end posts are still a problem and deserve more attention to ways to avoid them
