BACKGROUND: DESIDERATA
What I wished I asked but didn't but would next time:
- what criteria their past teachers used for grading discussion board work (my sense is that many teachers use a quantitative measure -- for instance, 90% of the required number of posts = A -- and/or an unarticulated subjective response for quality)
- if they felt writing their own posts was beneficial (I asked specifically only about the value of reading the posts of others)
