The Course

Attendance

Since our class goal is to be a community of learners in which interaction plays a key role, your "presence" both in class and on the discussion board is absolutely crucial.

"Being there" together and being there "on time" is very important.  So, poor attendance will affect your performance.

More than six class absences, for any reason, means a failure for the course.  In this course there is no distinction between excused and unexcused absences.

More than six discussion board absences, for any reason, means a failure for the course.  In this course there is no distinction between excused and unexcused absences.

  • Since the discussion board is the visible heart of our community, your "presence" there in timely fashion is crucial as well. If you post late, the class has moved on, there is no one to "hear" you, there is no interaction, others can not do their work, there is no discussion. Thus, If you post more than one calendar day late for an assignment, you will be considered absent from the discussion board that day.
