Externships

One of the best ways to learn more about your career field and your options is through an externship. Externships are job shadowing opportunities in which you can observe someone who is in your field of choice.  It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about their career paths, and to seek advice from to apply to your career decision making.  Externships can assist you with increasing your networking contacts, and create leads for potential internships or full time jobs in the future.

In Career Services, we offer three, structured externship programs for each undergraduate college:

For each program, the application process begins in the fall semester and typically, the externships occur during the winter break. The externship hosts include Lehigh alumni and corporate partners. Student applicants are matched up with their hosts in November and students and externs are notified after Thanksgiving break of the placements.  For specific details and dates for your program of interest, please click on the appropriate link.

You can also seek out your own externship. Schedule an appointment with a career counselor to learn more!
