PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As part of Lehigh University’s Getting to Global initiative, the CBE is proud to offer a global lab in Shanghai, China to qualified CBE students this year. This is an unprecedented opportunity for CBE students to immerse in on-location seminars, company visits, and cultural experiences that apply and extend our 100-level core curriculum in China – a significant part of our global economy.

Katrina Zalatan
Undergraduate Dean, College of Business & Economics

The program includes one week in Shanghai and the surrounding area, with seminars by local experts, case-studies, and company visits that connect Lehigh’s powerful 100-level core to application in China.  Led by a CBE Program Team on location in China (Professor Oliver Yao and Dean Katrina Zalatan), students will participate in a two-credit business elective designed exclusively for CBE sophomores and juniors.  Enrollment in the program includes pre-trip seminars at Lehigh in the fall and access to online language basics to prepare participants to get the most from the upcoming trip.  On-site seminars will be conducted at Tongji University in Shanghai, with housing adjacent to campus.  Cultural experiences range from local shopping to visiting “must-see” sights that students will enjoy as a Lehigh group.

(Further details will be made available shortly.)

* Space is limited.  CBE student participants will be selected this October via a competitive application process including an interview.
