PROGRAM COSTS
$500 (tentative) - This includes double occupancy room and admission for three days to the 2012 International Conference on Civil Environmental and Offshore Engineering in Kuala Lumpur. Not included: airfare, local travel outside of the program, meals, laundry, personal expenses, personal weekend travel or other costs.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Overview of REU-UTP Malaysia
This is a 6-week, non credit-bearing, unpaid research opportunity for all Engineering majors at Lehigh. Universiti Teknologi Petronas has research programs in chemical, civil, electrical & electronic, mechanical, and petroleum engineering. Students are encouraged to explore the UTP site and seek out specific opportunities with the faculty there. Professor Pessiki will conect them during the Spring information session.
Students will attend and volunteer at the ICCOEE 2012 portion of the ESTCON Conference from June 12 – 14th in Kuala Lumpur before being transported to the University of Technology Petronas, where they will commence their summer research project and reside for the remainder of the Malaysia program. The trip will include co-curricular activities around and excursions to Malaysian cultural sites.
