ChBE Graduate Symposium brings together students, faculty and industry for a day of technical presentations

The Chemical Engineering Graduate Association (ChEGA) organized and hosted its 2nd Annual Graduate Student Symposium on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Zoellner Arts Center. This all-day event included six student research talks and two poster sessions with 23 posters showcasing the graduate student research in the department. There was also a seminar by keynote speaker Dr. Michael Solomon from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan.

Attendees included graduate students and faculty members from ChBE, and 10 industrial research scientists and engineers from Cray Valley, Hexion, 3M, Polysciences Inc., Arkema Coating Resins, DuPont, Evonik, and Exxon. Many of the attending industry members were alumni of Lehigh's ChBE Ph.D. program. Prof. Mayuresh Kothare gave an introduction of the department, followed by opening comments by Prof. Alan Snyder, VP and Associate Provost for Research and Graduate Studies. Three Chemical Engineering graduate students received Outstanding Poster Awards: Elnaz Rasti Boroujeni, Gorgi Pavlov, and Matthew Urich.

Future ChBE Graduate Student Research Symposiums will be held annually in the fall semester.
