Professor Israel Wachs’ group wins Best Poster Award at International conference

A poster entitled:  "Tungsten Oxide Promotion of SCR of NOx with NH3 by Titania-Supported Vanadium Oxide Catalysts", with coauthors Jun-Kun Lai, Minghui Zhu, Michael Ford, and Israel Wachs was selected as the Best Poster at the 9th International Symposium on Group Five  Elements held in Delhi, India on Nov. 22-24, 2017.

Group Five Elements are key components of functional materials and industrial catalysts.  The purpose of this 3-day symposium is to bring together the community involved in pioneering research on Vanadium, Niobium and Tantalum, which are the main elements of this group.

The organizing chair of this symposium was Professor Goutam Deo from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.  Professor Deo is a Lehigh alumnus who completed his PhD with Professor Wachs in 1992.

This symposium also featured a keynote lecture by Professor Wachs entitled "Reaction Mechanism, Surface Intermediates and Kinetics for SCR of NOx with NH3 by Titania-Supported Vanadium Oxide Catalysts".
