Professor Steven McIntosh appointed to the editorial board of the Royal Society of Chemistry Advances journal

Professor Steven McIntosh, the Class of 1961 Associate Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering has been appointed as an Associate Editor of the Royal Society of Chemistry Advances Journal.

Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Advances is an international, peer-reviewed journal covering all of the chemical sciences, including multidisciplinary and emerging areas. The criteria for publication are that the work must be high quality, well conducted, and advance the development of the field. The journal has recently adopted a new Associate Editor peer review process to support the journals commitment to publishing high-quality research, and to ensure continued provision of a high standard of author service.

As an Associate Editor in this new system, McIntosh will initially assess manuscripts submitted to the journal, and, if considered appropriate, will review the scientific content of the paper along with members of an extended reviewer panel. McIntosh will utilize these reports to make decisions regarding publication of the work in the journal.

The UK-based Royal Society of Chemistry was founded as the Chemical Society of London in 1841 and received it's first royal charter from Queen Victoria in 1848. The society currently has over 51,000 members across the world and operates as an influential champion for the chemical sciences through it's internationally-renowned not-for-profit publishing and knowledge business.

McIntosh will begin the new appointment on September 1st.
