Professor Israel Wachs receives the 2015 Lee Hsun Lecture Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Israel E. Wachs, G. Whitney Snyder Professor Of the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, received the 2015 Lee Hsun Lecture Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The Lee Hsun Lecture Award honors international scientists who have made significant contributions and impacts to the field of materials science and engineering. The award aims at encouraging scientists with great influence on materials science and engineering to visit the Shenyang National Laboratory to initiate academic communication and cooperation, promote the establishment of new subject areas, etc.

Professor Wachs plans to visit the Shenyang National Laboratory in October 2015. Past recipients have also been made adjunct professors at the Shenyang National Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Professor Wachs received the Lee Hsun Award for his pioneering research on catalytic materials.
