Professor Anthony McHugh and Emeritus Professor William Schiesser co-author a book on global CO2 modeling.

A new book titled "An Introductory Global CO2 Model" is scheduled to be published in July 2015 by World Scientific Publishing Co. The book is co-authored by Professor Anthony McHugh, the Sam and Ruth Madrid Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Professor William E. Schiesser, the Emeritus McCann Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and Professor Graham W. Griffiths of the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at City University London.

The book describes CO2 distribution in seven distinct sections of the Earth environmental system using ordinary differential equation models that incorporate current and past data on global CO2 measurements. The model projects global CO2 concentrations for the period 1850 to 2100 and can be used as a pedagogical tool for illustrating mathematical modeling techniques and also to explore important societal and environmental impacts of CO2 emissions.
