Dr. Jeetain Mittal selected to participate in the 2015 Frontiers of Engineering symposium of the National Academy of Engineering

Dr. Jeetain Mittal, Associate Professor of Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering, was one among 88 engineers selected by the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) to attend the 2015 annual US Frontiers of Engineering (FOE) symposium in Irvine Beckman Center in Irvine, CA. This is the 21st annual US FOE symposium organized by the NAE. Engineers ages 30 to 45 who are performing exceptional engineering research and technical work in a variety of disciplines are invited every year for this 2.5 day event.

The 2015 US FOE was held on September 9-11, Irvine, CA and focused on four thematic areas: cybersecurity, forecasting natural disasters, optical and mechanical materials, and engineering the search for earth-like exoplanets. The purpose of the FOE symposia organized annually by the National Academies is to bring together nation’s brightest young engineering talents to develop professional relationships that enable the advancement of the US national technological capabilities throughout their careers.

Previous attendees of this and other FOE symposia from Lehigh University include the following faculty:

Dr. John Coulter (Mech. Eng.)
Dr. Jeff Heflin (Comp. Sci.)
Dr. Kristen Jellison (Civil & Env. Eng.)
Dr. Mayuresh V. Kothare (Chem. & Biomol. Eng.)
