APICS CSCP and CPIM Certification Training
Earning an APICS (the Association for Operations Management) certification can transform a practitioner from a qualified candidate to a sought-after expert.
CSCP - The CVCR offers supply chain practitioners the opportunity to earn an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification. The APICS CSCP brings a company's entire value chain into perspective. By gaining a truly end-to-end view of the supply chain, certified CSCPs don’t just become leading supply chain professionals within their organizations’ walls—they become global experts. From manufacturing to service, in business and consumer markets, the increasingly important role of effective supply chain management affects all organizations. The CVCR’s course helps attendees prepare for the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional certification exam. It consists of five eight-hour classes, with each class covering one module of the CSCP Learning System plus a review session. Each class utilizes an interactive student response system to help monitor and measure the student learning experience. Attendees learn concepts pertaining to:
- Supply Chain Management Fundamentals
- Building Competitive Operations and Planning, and Logistics
- Managing Customer and Supplier Relationships
- Using Information Technology to Enable Supply Chain Management
The CSCP and CPIM instructor is Howard Forman, president of PIM Associates, Inc., a leading provider of operations and supply chain education and training. Howard has over 30 years of experience in the operational and supply chain field as a practitioner, consultant and trainer. He has taught over 100 APICS CPIM, CIRM, plus over 40 CSCP certification courses and tutorials. Howard is a frequent speaker at various APICS meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences. He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with an MBA and BS in Business Management.
CPIM (offered on-line) - The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program, established in 1973, was designed to provide a common basis for individuals to assess their knowledge and understanding of operations and supply chain management concepts, termiinology, and strategy.
Five modules comprise the CPIM program. To earn the certification, individuals must pass all five APICS CPIM certification exam modules:
- Basics of Supply Chain Management
Explore the basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain.
- Master Planning of Resources
Explore processes used to develop sales and operations plans. and learn to identify and assess internal and external demand and forecasting requirements.
- Detailed Scheduling and Planning
Focus on the various techniques for material and capacity planning and scheduling.
- Execution and Control of Operations
Focus on the areas of priortizing and sequencing work, executing work plans and implementing controls, reporting activity results, and providing feedback on performance.
- Strategic Management of Resources
Explore the relationship of existing and emerging processes and technologies to manufacturing strategy and supply chain-related functions.

CSCP Classes 2014:
The Center for Value Chain Research (CVCR) is pleased to offer an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification course for Fall 2014.
Our Course uses the latest 2014 version of the APICS CSCP Learning System. We use enhanced CSCP courseware, extra exercises and over 2,000 additional CSCP practice questions to help you better understand the material. Our course focuses on key concepts, definitions, relationship, various CSCP calculations, and we provide numerous examples on how companies apply these concepts. The use of the CSCP Learning System, in conjunction with our instructor-led class, will enhance your learning experience as you prepare for the CSCP exam.
Fall CSCP Classes are held on the Lehigh University campus at the Rauch Business Center, 621 Taylor Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015, on Friday, September 12, 19; October 10, 24, 31; and November 7. Classes start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
