CVCR: Center for Value Chain Research
Mission
The Center for Value Chain Research (CVCR) is committed to promoting and conducting research and information exchange through the integration of emerging theory and best practices. The Center's research focuses primarily on value chain planning and development activities, which connect corporate strategy with value chain execution systems.
The CVCR is a joint venture between Lehigh University's P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Business and Economics. A core group of over 25 faculty members from both colleges is affiliated with the Center. The Center provides a unique, multidisciplinary approach to research, offering exciting new opportunities for innovation by integrating analytical and quantitative engineering approaches with process-driven and field-based business research.
Vision
The Center brings together scholars and practitioners to establish a multi-disciplinary research agenda for information-enabled inter- and intra-organizational networks. The Center disseminates research findings through professional conferences, scholarly publications, and curriculum development.
Strategic Goals
Scholarship. To be an international leader in research and scholarly publications of information and value network thought and theory.Contract Research. To provide project-based research with industrial partners on firm-specific research problems.Best Practices. To be acknowledged by business and government leaders as a leading catalyst for collaborative development and validation of best practices and applications.Doctoral Education. To provide doctoral student dissertation research opportunities in concert with sponsored research projects.Master's Education. To continuously improve master's degree programs in business administration and engineering by integrating research findings into the curriculum and providing students with analysis and problem solving opportunities in sponsoring organizations.Undergraduate Education. To continuously improve core and major curricula in business administration and engineering by updating syllabi with contemporary best practices, providing internships in sponsoring organizations, and creating off-campus opportunities for students.Executive and Professional Education. To meet the continuing professional development needs of senior and mid-level executives by establishing a series of courses and seminars on critical and emerging information and value network issues.
