The Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering Degree (M.Eng.CE)
Industry, government, teaching—the road to a career in civil engineering leads to many destinations. While a bachelor’s degree paves the way to a wide array of entry-level positions, a graduate degree can broaden prospects and accelerate advancement.
The Master of Engineering in civil engineering (M.Eng.CE) is a 30-credit, courses-only degree. It provides a graduate-level option to students who want to complete a master’s degree that has no thesis or project requirement.
Although the program is open to all students, the typical M.Eng.CE student tends to be a practicing professional working toward his or her master’s degree on a part-time basis.
For entry into the practice of civil engineering as a licensed professional engineer, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recommends a master's degree or approximately 30 coordinated credits that provide equal academic quality and rigor.

Lehigh offers Master of Engineering degrees in civil and structural engineering. The M.Eng. in civil engineering offers students the most flexibility to design a degree that best fits their interests from among the department’s four technical disciplines:
Students may also take courses outside the department.
All our graduate students work with an internationally known faculty in laboratories that draw students, scientists and clients from all over the world to facilities few universities can match.
