CEE

Dear Colleagues and Friends of Lehigh CEE,

On behalf of our department, it is my pleasure to share our CEE Connections newsletter with you. I invite you to read through it and learn more about the many exciting things that have been happening within our Lehigh CEE community.

Earlier this year, we were very pleased, indeed elated, to find out that our department was named the #2 civil engineering program in the world in the 2017 Academic Ranking of World Universities. This recognition is based on our department’s scholarly output, impact of research, and number of significant awards won by the faculty. Our research capacity grew and expanded in new directions during this past year, including the addition of Dr. Y.C. Ethan Yang to our ranks as a new assistant professor of water resources engineering. Our students — from the undergraduate to Ph.D. level — excelled in their academics, research, extracurricular activities, internships, and jobs. They follow a long tradition of contribution to the profession and service to the society that many generations of alumni established before them.

If you have any milestones, accomplishments, or just want to say hello, we’d love to hear from you. Send us an e-mail at incee@lehigh.edu, and let us know what you've been up to this year, or if you're on or near campus, stop by and say hello!

Warmest regards,

Panos Diplas, P.C. Rossin Professor and Chair
Lehigh University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
