CEE

Dear Colleagues and Friends of Lehigh CEE,

It has been a very exciting year for us — our 150th anniversary as a department and a university was a special occasion indeed! We spent a wonderful weekend in April reconnecting with friends and alumni of the department, but we also looked ahead and recommitted ourselves to the advancement of the profession through education and research. To that end, we are thrilled to be working together with John Simon, Lehigh's 14th President who joined the university last fall, and Stephen DeWeerth, the new Dean of the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science who joined us in September, to make these big ideas a reality. Our faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and alumni responded to this call by making 2016 a truly banner year for the civil and environmental engineering department at Lehigh.

On behalf of our department, it is my pleasure to share with you these accomplishments and milestones in the form of our CEE Connections newsletter. Please take a few moments and read about many of the things that have been going on here recently.

We'd also love to hear from you. Send us an e-mail at incee@lehigh.edu, and let us know what you've been up to this year, or if you're on or near campus, stop by and say hello!

Warmest regards,

Panos Diplas, P.C. Rossin Professor and Chair
Lehigh University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
