message from Dean BrownEXCITING ENHANCED SUPPORT FOR STUDENT SUCCESSThe Center for Student Advancement and a new undergraduate website are launched.Preparing leaders for the competitive global world we live in is a driving force for the College as we acknowledge the challenges facing our recent and future graduates. These continually uncertain times dictate that the next generation of business leaders understands that the unknown is the norm. As our students plot their career paths, we need to make sure that we are with them every step of the way - the reason why we established the new undergraduate Center for Student Advancement. Over the course of their four years at Lehigh, students seek the advice of our faculty and professional advisors and counselors concerning a variety of issues. Careful and strategic academic planning is necessary as each student considers the plethora of options available and fine-tunes career and personal goals. This fall the College formally launched the new Center for Student Advancement (CSA). The CSA is located in new space on the third floor of the Rauch Business Center. It is a single location where faculty, professional staff, and peer mentors are available to undergraduate students. The key components and resources for the Center include academic and professional advising, study abroad planning and coordination with studies, internship opportunities, academic support, professional development, and leadership support. The CSA has been received enthusiastically by our students. This new welcoming space and additional resources provide a streamlined approach for students as they navigate their undergraduate years and seek support in crafting the personalized learning experience that is just right for them. We owe this to our students, and are extremely pleased to offer this enhanced support to our current and future students. Stop by! This fall also saw the launch of our new Undergraduate Programs web site. We are extremely proud of our students and their accomplishments. It seems logical to exercise our "bragging rights" to our external constituencies. I encourage you to take a look at the expanded pages. I trust that they provide you with more insight into our students and programs, and thus capture the excitement and wonderful opportunities that are at the very core of a Lehigh education. |
