Lehigh-Pool Scholars Premedical Education Program

In a unique partnership, Lehigh University and Lehigh Valley Hospital have established a joint pre-med program, a "New Paradigm for Pre-Medical Training: Building an Academic-Practitioner Bridge for Undergraduates." Project-based, experiential learning is the driving educational philosophy behind the Lehigh-Pool Scholars Premedical Education Program. Highlights include: - Three years of combined biomedical research/internship experiences

• Guaranteed, paid summer research opportunities ($3,000 per summer) that will provide practical experience in biomedical settings to promote and accelerate skill development
• Joint faculty and physician advising
• Special courses in modern medical economics, business practices, and ethics
• Travel to major professional society meetings to present research and learn about state-of-the-art developments
• A lecture/dinner series that will include special, individual sessions with distinguished speakers
