I am interested in how peripheral hormones and neuropeptides orchestrate behaviors in order to optimize reproductive success in environments where energy fluctuates. I am studying a species that alternates between ingestive and reproductive behaviors at predictable times during the year in order to determine the changes in hormone secretion, receptors for those hormones, and neural architecture that underlie changes in behavior.
