The study of how hormones control the nervous system and behavior. In this course, students explore the biology and environmental effects underlying male and female identity, sexual desires, monogamy, parental behavior, dominance and subordination, aggression, addiction, biological clocks, drugs such as Viagra and much more.

Fat Biology (Bios 070)

A college seminar for first year undergraduates that explores the adaptive value of body fat, as well as pathologies and problems such as obesity and anorexia nervosa. In this class, students explore the physiological mechanisms underlying diets, appetite suppressants, surgeries as well as perspectives on food marketing and societal attitudes about body image.
