An exciting opportunity for students from Lehigh University and other schools to study in a beautiful Pocono setting! Lehigh students can complete their EES field experience in three weeks early in the summer at the Lacawac Sanctuary 75 miles northeast of Bethlehem. Students live in an Adirondack-style lodge set in an oak and hemlock forest rich with wildlife.

This is a three-week field oriented course in which advanced instrumentation and concepts are applied in a unique format to illustrate lake ecosystems. Students in residence focus on the physical, chemical and biological properties of a pristine glacial lake ecosystem and its watershed. Lectures and hands-on training with sophisticated lab and field instruments prepare students for team research projects. This course satisfies the Field Experience requirement for EES majors. Instructors: Dr. Bruce Hargreaves (brh0 @ lehigh.edu), 610-758-3683) and Dr. Robert Moeller (rem3 @ lehigh.edu), 610-758-3693).
