Core Faculty and Research Interests:
Faculty work closely with their students on a variety
of research questions related to lake ecosystems, plankton communities,
climate history, sedimentation, aqueous geochemistry, and hydrology. An
emphasis is placed on the application of advanced instrumentation techniques
and the importance of abiotic as well as biotic factors in regulating the
structure and function of aquatic communities and ecosystems. While faculty
members who participate in the program supervise their own independent
research laboratories, many also participate in interactive programs with
other laboratories. In addition to the areas described below, be sure to
consult individual faculty
pages and the EES
department graduate Web pages.
