IN SEASON
Daily laundry service for individual student athletes/coaches will be provided during their competitive season. Laundering of daily gear will be provided for Lehigh issued gear only, via the use of individually numbered mesh laundry bags. Laundry bags must be placed in the designated sport specific area (hamper in locker room, drop room, etc) with the ID flag on the outside and the rubber closure properly fastened. Laundry bags will be picked up following the completion of daily practices/competitions, washed, dried and redelivered to the designated sport specific area prior to the next days activity.
The following steps are necessary to ensure the clean and timely return of daily gear:
1. Only Lehigh issued items are to be placed in individual student athlete laundry bags
2. Items issued on an annual and/or career basis are not to be placed in individual student athlete laundry bags
3. ID flag on individual bags must be visible and on the outside
4. Rubber closure must be properly fastened and secured toward the top of the bag
5. Bags must be placed in designated area prior to pick up(bags left on locker room floor or "near" designated area will not be laundered)
Failure to properly follow these steps will result in daily gear being unlaundered.
Competition items (ie uniforms, game socks, towels, etc) will be laundered following each athletic event. Following a home competition, issued items will be picked up from the designated sport specific area. Competition items are NOT to be placed in the daily laundry bag. All issued competition items are to be returned following each event. Do not keep home competition items or leave them in your locker. For away events, competition items will be placed in individual student athlete game bags. All items issued in the game bag should be returned to the designated sport specific area immediately upon arrival back at Lehigh.
PRE SEASON
Laundry Service will be provided once a day, following the last practice. The only changes from IN SEASON procedures relates to safety equipment. Those teams having safety equipment fitted by the equipment operations and requiring dry clothing as a part of their functionality will be provided service following each practice.
OUT OF SEASON
Daily laundry service for out of season participation will be limited to group issued gear via the sport specific coaching staff. Items will be issued in a large duffle bag and be limited to t-shirts, shorts, and socks. Items will only be issued upon advanced request and will be limited to the active roster. Coaches wishing to obtain out of season issue/laundry service should provide a roster with individual student athlete sizes. Pick up and return of the issued duffle bag, at the Varsity House, will be the responsibility of the sport specific coaching staff. Specific arrangements will be made at time of coaches request. Group issued gear returned following a team activity will be laundered and placed in the agreed-to pick up/return site at the Varsity House. At the end of the out of season segment, an inventory of the group issued gear will be taken. Any missing or outstanding items that cannot be located, will be the financial responsibility of the sport specific coaching staff.
The following steps are necessary to ensure the clean and timely availability of out of season gear:
1. T-shirts, shorts and socks will be provided for out of season issue
2. Coaches must provide an active roster with sizing information, in advance, for out of season gear issue
3. Coach will be responsible for pick up and return of gear duffle bag to the Varsity House for laundering
4. Coach will be responsible for tracking and/or any missing out of season gear
Competition items for out of season use will also be distributed through a group duffle bag via the sport specific coaching staff. Items will only be issued upon advanced request (at least one week previous to date of event) and will be limited to the active roster. Detailed information relating to out of season competition items should be provided as well (ie roster, sizing, specific items needed, date of pick up/return, etc). Individual student athlete game bags and game day warmups will not be provided for the out of season segment. Competition items for out of season use must be returned immediately following the event to the Varsity House or the Taylor Gym drop room. Items will be inventoried and washed upon return. Sport specific coaches will be provided a list of any missing or outstanding items and will be responsible for the prompt return of these pieces. Any missing or outstanding items that cannot be located, will be the financial responsibility of the sport specific coaching staff.
OFF SEASON
No laundry service will be provided for off season activities (ie strength training, speed training, pick up games, etc).
