Advancement Services uses a variety of technology in meeting the information services needs of the advancement operations.
Main System: Banner
Banner is the main and authoritative source of information on people, corporations, contacts, pledges, gifts, and so much more information. Banner is an integrated system for Lehigh's administrative systems so information flows without having to reenter and store in multiple places. For example, when a student graduates, they are updated to be an alum vs. 'created as a new record' in an alumni system. Similarly, when a gift is entered, that information flows to finance to properly update the financial records.
Reporting: ARGOS (Advancement's Reporting Groovy Output System) & reporting database
Advancement Services uses primarily the desktop reporting tool of Argos to support Advancement's reporting needs. Argos has the flexibilityof supporting many different criteria for extracting information and seeing summary and detail data. Argos can easily extract information into a spreadsheet for further analysis and presentation. More than just a reporting tool, Argos will become the primary interface of Banner data for all non data entry staff.
From a reporting database, the majority of reporting is done off of a 'datamart' - which is a copy of the production environment from the day before. This allows for more users to access information without impacting the entry production system. The datamart contains data models that are better suited for reporting vs. the Banner delivered production tables that are more suited for data storage and ease of entry.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Argos & Banner
Between storing the information in Banner and using Argos to manage the accessing of information (whether push or pull), Advancement is utilizing CRM technology with the ability to tailor, customize, personalize settings and access to information related to pertinent needs. Dashboards, push technology, and ease of access all make a development officer's or staff's access to information easy and straightforward in order to support their understanding of our relationship with an alum, parent, friend, corporation, or foundation.
Phonathon: Ruffalo Cody
Ruffalo Cody is the system used to manage the thousands of calls made each year by Lehigh Liners to alums, parents, and friends. Information is taken from Banner into Ruffaly Cody so that contact & giving information is displayed. As updated information and pledges are received, they flow back into Banner to maintain a single database for all of our information.
Online Giving: iModules
Lehigh uses the iModules platform for it's online gliving. Growing by 3% a year, online gifts comprise close to 15% of Lehigh's giving each year.
Online Community: iModules
Lehigh utilized the iModules online community platform - being branded myLehigh. Using the iModules platform, alumni are able to manage their social networks with other alums while being able to stay connected with Lehigh. Being able to career network, contribute, register for events, join targeted groups, submit pictures, search through an online directory, and so much more will bring an online presence and awareness of Lehigh to a much broader and diverse constituency.
Event Management : iModules & Banner
Both Banner and iModules is used to support the event management, planning, and tracking. If you are managing an event involving Lehigh alumni, please contact Advancement Services at firstname.lastname@example.org to support your information and processing needs.
Web Content Management : iModules
iModules is our platform for web content management for our alumni. Allowing an ease of updating and posting content, pictures, video, etc, iModules contains web content management tools that are utilized by Advancement Communications.
