Meet the Staff

Angela Nicole Scott, Director

As the Director for Academic Diversity and Outreach, Ms. Scott is responsible for the Academic Outreach Department and supports the academic diversity, inclusion, and engagement strategic initiatives.  She reports directly to the Vice Provost for Academic Diversity (VPAD).

Prior to coming to Lehigh University, Angela Scott most recently served as Special Assistant to the Dean and ProgramCoordinator of the Dual Credit Early College Program at Rowan University. She has also served as Director of Undergraduate Affairs at Temple University’s College of Liberal Arts, with enrollment of over 5,000 students. Ms. Scott has served as an adjunct professor, teaching courses in Global Public Health and College Writing at both Temple University and The College of New Jersey. As well, she has designed and overseen the implementation of public health curriculum for federally-funded research grants, implemented both domestically and internationally.

Ms. Scott possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s and Gender Studies from Rutgers University’s Douglass College; a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Management from the University of Pennsylvania; and is completing her doctoral dissertation in Educational Leadership (ABD) at Rowan University. In addition, Ms. Scott possesses a certificate from the Management Development Program at the Harvard Institutes for Higher Education and a certificate from the Leadership Academy and Supervisory Development Program at Temple University.

Debra Rubart, Department Coordinator

Debra is the Department Coordinator for Academic Outreach. She plays a significant role in coordinating pre-college
(K-12) academic programs as well as other initiatives. She is instrumental in the creation/maintenance of databases for various programs, creating and maintaining websites for the department and various programs along with desk top publishing.

She also works as Assistant Director of the Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Research Fair (grades 6-12) held every spring. In the past, she has produced DVDs promoting several academic initiatives. Debra has been synergic in the creation of university wide initiatives and programs such as, Administration Reference Manual, R.E.A.C.H. and recently proposed on-boarding program for new staff.

Debra is currently pursuing a B.S. in Management of Information Technology, and Management at DeSales University and has recently completed the Achieving Excellence: The Business Perspective Curriculum at Lehigh University. She served as Chair of Employee Relations Advisory Committee (ERAC) and volunteers for the American Cancer Society and The Open Line.
