Application Instructions Summer, 2010

A complete application package (application form, $100 deposit, transcript) must be received by 01 February, 2010

DATES: Saturday, 15 May through Thursday, 10 June, 2010 (travel home time included)
If you are joining us at Lehigh, you will need to arrive on Friday, 14 May, 2010

COST:  $3500, all-inclusive, for both in and out of state (PA) students

NOTE: No private vehicles, all transportation is by provided by Lehigh vans

We are looking for approximately 15 serious and engaged students who want to take field camp as their first step in maturing into a professional Earth Scientist.  We will consider your application in the order that it is received.  Registration will formally close on 01 February, 2010.  Acceptance or rejection notices will be announced by 10 February, 2010.  Direct correspondence with the field camp director is required to register after the deadline.  Applying is a simple, 5-step process.  Please follow these five steps, in the order presented below.

STEP 1.  Download this information sheet.  Retain it for your records.  Information Sheets

STEP 2.  Fill out this form online and submit it to me (Frank Pazzaglia) by clicking on the "submit" button at the bottom of the form.   Form

STEP 3.  Secure a paper copy of your transcript.  An unofficial print-out of your transcript from an on-line web browser page is OK.

STEP 4.  Attach to your transcript a REFUNDABLE CHECK for $100.00 made out to "Lehigh University Field Camp" -OR- download this credit card form Credit Card Form , print it out, and provide your credit card information.  Your check or credit card information MUST contain your name and Social Security Number for the Bursar to properly have you enrolled.  Send the transcript and deposit to:

NOTE:  Your application is not complete until Frank Pazzaglia receives your completed application form and Laura Cambiotti receives your transcript and $100 deposit.

 

STEP 5.  When we receive your TRANSCRIPT, DEPOSIT and COMPLETED application form, you will receive an email from Frank J. Pazzaglia within 7 working days letting you that your application package is complete.  If you are accepted, you will also be provided with instructions that lay out the remaining steps you need to follow to complete the registration process.  Basically, you will need to keep open a reliable email address for messages.  Laura Cambiotti will contact you requesting the balance of the payment.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  You are not fully registered for the course until you have completely paid for the course.  For those waiting on financial aid, you must work through Ms. Cambiotti to file the appropriate bursar forms.  We will not allow you to join us on May 15th, 2010 until you are paid in full or have made financial aid arrangements with the bursar.

 

REFUND POLICY:

(1) If you are NOT ACCEPTED into the course, we will REFUND your $100 application check.
 

(2) If you are ACCEPTED into the course, the $100 application check is NOT REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, but of course will be applied to the balance of your full payment.
 

(3) If you are ACCEPTED into the course and have paid in full, we WILL REFUND YOU IN FULL (less the $100 application fee) should you not be able to attend the course as long as we receive notification on or before 01 April, 2010.
 

(4) If you are ACCEPTED into the course and have paid in full, we will REFUND YOU HALF OF THE COURSE FEE (less the $100 application fee) should you not be able to attend the course as long as we receive notification between 02 April and 01 May, 2010.  In this case, should the student wish to attend camp the following year, we will apply the non-refunded balance towards the following year's payment.
 

(5) If you are ACCEPTED into the course and have paid in full, we will NOT REFUND YOU at all should you not be able to attend the course if we receive no notification or notification on or after 02 May, 2010. In this case, should the student wish to attend camp the following year, we will apply the non-refunded balance towards the following year's payment.
