The syllabus for Math 51 will probably be posted here in July. The text is Calculus and its applications, by Goldstein, Lay, Schneider, and Asmar, 14th edition. We have been using the 13th edition for the past several years. Although it is recommended that you buy the 14th edition, you can probably get by with the 13th. There is not much change to the text. Some exercises are different or renumbered, but my intent is that the hand-in homework problems will not be from the text. There will be suggested problems to work from the text, and some of them may have a different number in the two editions, but they are not handed in.
