From: Greg Kuperberg Subject: Article for toplist Date: Tue, 13 Jan 1998 08:43:48 -0800 (PST) Subject: News about the xxx math archive To: toplist I no longer intend to mail each of you abstracts of e-prints in the Hopf archive individually. I have the revised abstracts, and they will be available if you collectively decide that you would like to merge the Hopf archive with xxx after all. The initiative for any such course of action has to come from the algebraic topology community and it has to include Clarence Wilkerson, since he maintains the Hopf archive. I invite you to discuss the archive expansion committee's offer in this mailing list. The committee's offer will remain open indefinitely and, as always, we invite you to submit new e-prints to the xxx math archive, category AT. Step-by-step instructions are available at: http://front.math.ucdavis.edu/submissions.html In other news: Two more archives have accepted the math archive expansion committee's offer to merge with the Los Alamos system: The LACES combinatorics archive and the Logic E-prints archive. Migration of the Banach archive is pending. See http://front.math.ucdavis.edu/acknowledgements.html for a list of previous archive migrations to xxx. Among highly active categories at xxx, the one closest to Algebraic Topology is GT - Geometric Topology. Since December 1, 1997, GT has received e-prints by these authors: Akbulut Gilmer Ko McCullough Scharlemann Ares-Gastesi Handel Kuperberg Morton Scott Auckly Hass Lee Neumann Suciu Bestvina Hatcher Leeb Rourke Swarup Birman Hempel Levine Ruberman Thurston Feighn Hong Luo Rubinstein Yang Fenley Kirby Matei Sanderson If these authors interest you, take a look at http://front.math.ucdavis.edu/math.GT .
