Preference will be given to someone working in Lie Theory (Lie groups, Lie algebras, Coxeter groups, (affine) Weyl groups) or computational algebra/computational geometry. The successful applicant will join a thriving department with a high research profile. The present research interests of the Mathematics group include representation theory and invariant theory, computational algebra, discrete mathematics, as well as nonlinear phenomena, differential equations, geometric integration and mathematical physics. The post is available from 1st September 2005, or such a date as may be arranged. The salary will be on the Lecturer A/B scale (23,643 - 35,883 pounds) at a point appropriate to experience.
