Subject: message for your list Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2002 14:30:03 +0100 (BST) From: Geometry and Topology Journal Subject: Call for submission to the GT Monograph series Dear Colleague This is a message from Geometry and Topology Publications (GTP) calling for submissions to the Geometry and Topology Monographs (GTM) series. BRIEF DESCRIPTION ================= Geometry and Topology Publications is based firmly in the community, makes no profit, and exists to provide an alternative publishing forum to the traditional, high-priced, high-profit, commercial publishers. Alongside the GTM series, GTP publishes two journals: "Geometry and Topology" and "Algebraic and Geometric Topology". All three series are published both in open-access electronic format (free to individuals) and in a low-cost printed version. The GTM series is intended to provide an open access electronic forum for individual monographs and for conference proceedings. It was started in 1998 with the publication of "The Epstein Birthday Schrift". Two further volumes have been published: Volume 2: Proceedings of the Kirbyfest (1999) Volume 3: Invitation to Higher Local Fields (2000) Originally the print version was as a joint venture between GTP and International Press (IP) but recently GTP has bought out IP's interest and the series is now wholly owned by GTP. We are now planning to expand and extend the series. Three further volumes are nearing publication (two conference proceedings and one book). The purpose of this message is to call for submissions. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS ==================== If you have a monograph (or set of proceedings) planned or nearing completion, please consider publishing it in the GTM series. We offer speedy electronic publication (immediate for articles in the correct format) free electronic access to individuals and fast low-cost printed publication. We have several mirror sites, a large electronic mailing list and we store all our publications in the arXiv for permanence and easy access. A small royalty is paid to authors and proceedings' editors, who also receive a limited number of free copies and all profits (none have been made to date, but we live in hope!) are ploughed back into GTP and hence into the community. Please email the managing editors at gt@maths.warwick.ac.uk for all submissions to the series, enquiries, etc. ORDERING PRINTED COPY OF EXISTING VOLUMES ========================================== For details and ordering of printed copy of any of GTP publications visit: http://www.maths.warwick.ac.uk/gt/gtp-subscription.html Yours Colin Rourke and Brian Sanderson Managing Editors Geometry and Topology Publications Executive Comittee: Rob Kirby (chair), Joan Birman, Haynes Miller, Bob Oliver, Colin Rourke, Brian Sanderson, Marty Scharlemann http://www.maths.warwick.ac.uk/gt/gtp.html EMAIL: gt@maths.warwick.ac.uk
