This is the first announcement of the Special Session

"Recent Advances in Algebraic Topology"

at the AMS Fall Southeastern Sectional Meeting.  The special session will
run on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th at Middle Tennessee
State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is about 30 miles
Southeast of Nashville Airport. There is a distinct emphasis on giving new
faces in the field an opportunity to speak about their work.  A dinner is
planned for the evening of Saturday, November 3rd.  The meeting website is

Within the meeting website, we also have a list for job seekers
(http://math.aa.psu.edu/~mark/Conf/listings.html),  The purpose of this
list is to give people in the field who will be on the job market within
the next few years more exposure to potential employers.  Regardless of
whether you are attending the meeting or not, if you wish to have your
name added on that list, just write a brief paragraph about your research
(see the examples there) and provide a link to your CV or a personal
website.  Please send your brief bio + CV/website to Mark Johnson
