Math 22, Spring, 1997
Math 22, Spring, 1997
Math 22, Calculus and Analytic Geometry II, will cover chapters 6 - 10 of
Calculus, Early Transcendentals, third edition, by James Stewart. There
is also a supplemental text, Discovering Calculus with Maple , by Harris and
Lopez, which is required for this course.
Note that the general information, lecture notes,
and Maple-Primer handouts are now available
in plain-text versions, readable directly on your Web browser. It is not
perfectly formatted, and some mathematical symbols are garbled, but it might be
useful. This is more readable than the TeX versions promised in the general
information sheets. To print these documents, get the postscript version (the
first link) and simply print it. Most dorm printers should understand the
file, and print it with all the mathematical symbols.
Maple demonstrations
- Basics, Maple basics, how
to use Maple commands in algebra and simple equations.
- Solids of
Revolution, Demo/animation of various solids of revolution, written by
Professor Monks. There are worksheets for both Maple V rel 3 and Maple V rel 4.
The rel 4 worksheet is
better, if you have access to a PC with that version of Maple.
Maple worksheets and homework assignments
When you click on these links, the assignment, in the form of a Maple worksheet,
will download onto your computer. It will not start Maple automatically.
To use the worksheet, start Maple and load the file from there.
If your Netscape does not download the file, try pressing the Shift key while
you click on the link.
There are solutions available for the second assignment only, in both postscript
and MapleV rel 4 format (this worksheet is not readable on the workstations, you
ne3ed the new version of Maple to read that).
General Information
Old Exams, with Solutions
We have available some old exams, some with solutions, given in Math 22 in
previous years, as well as some "practice exams".
Keep in mind that the syllabus was not completely synchronized with, nor exactly the
same material as, the current course. These old exams and practice exams are
only intended as a study guide.

Current Exams, with Solutions!
We now have available solutions for both 4:00 exam of this semester.
As usual, they are in postscript form, which some of you may have trouble
viewing on-screen. If you have ghostview available, that program can
view these files. Alternately, they can be printed using the DOS print command
on any WIRED printer.
