Formulated investment strategies for Japanese insurance clients. Implemented first major financial application of a multistage stochastic programming model for asset-liability management of the second largest Japanese marine and fire insurance company. Marketed asset-liability capabilities to major insurance companies in Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States. Wrote research commentaries on Global equity managers versus regional specialists and the treatment of Japan as a separate asset class in a mean-variance framework.

Opened Tokyo office and increased revenue and clients by over fifty percent in six months. Consulted on performance measurement to Japan-based investment management firms. Researched deregulation of the Japanese financial markets, especially in pension and investment trust fields, and consulted on the consequences of the changes. Researched international equity managers's performance.

Analyzed portfolio, industry, index, sector, country, currency performance and transaction activity. Created special reports on Japanese Trust Banks and Fire and Marine Insurance companies, Global Earnings Discount Model, and Japanese Price Earnings. Increased accuracy and decreased response time to consultant and manager search questionnaires.

Wrote research reports on Japanese pharmaceutical companies and cross holdings of Japanese companies for distribution to global clients. Translated Japanese company research reports and news for input into Daiwa's International Portfolio Management System for worldwide dissemination.

Researched and formulated legislative issues. Solved constituent problems. Managed college interns, ensuring the experience was beneficial. Wrote State Representative's speeches, weekly news columns, and responses to constituents.
