Application Instructions, Summer 2017

A complete application package - the application form, a $200 deposit, and a transcript must be received before we will consider you for acceptance.

DATES: Our camp runs from 30 May through 02 July, subject to change
If you are joining us at Lehigh, you will need to arrive on: 29 May, 2017, before 3:00 PM

COST:  $4500, all-inclusive, for both in and out of state (PA) students

NOTE: No private vehicles, all transportation is provided by Lehigh vans

Thank you for your interest in Lehigh Field Camp!

We are looking for 30 serious and engaged students who want to take field camp as their first step in maturing into a professional Earth Scientist.  We will consider your application in the order that it is received.  Registration is now open and formal acceptances will be made on or before 01 February, 2017.  If we are not able to accept you because you do not meet pre-requisites, we will let you know before 01 February, 2017.  After 01 February, 2017, we will generate waiting list for late applications.  Direct correspondence with the field camp director is required to remain on the waiting list and register after the deadline.  

Lehigh Field Camp is a travelling camp. Please be sure to review the course description and the reasons you should apply before proceeding in your application

Lehigh Field Camp is committed to diversity, welcomes and encourage applications from all students, including members of under-represented groups. Limited scholarships are available.

Applying is a simple, 5-step process.  Please follow these five steps, in the order presented below.

STEP 1.  Review the driving policy and options for scholarships

STEP 2.  Fill out this form online and click on the "submit" button at the bottom of the form.   Form

STEP 3.  Secure a paper copy of your transcript.  An unofficial print-out of your transcript from an on-line web browser page is OK.

STEP 4.  Attach to your transcript a check for $200.00 (see refund policy below) made out to "Lehigh University Field Camp" -OR- download this credit card form Credit Card Form , print it out, and provide your credit card information.  Your check or credit card information MUST contain your name and Social Security Number for the Bursar to properly have you enrolled.  Send the transcript and deposit by regular snail-mail to:

NOTE:  Your application is not complete until Ms. Roman receives your transcript and $200 deposit.

 

STEP 5.  When we receive your TRANSCRIPT, DEPOSIT and COMPLETED application form, you will receive an email from the Field Camp Director within 7 working days letting you know that your application package is complete.  If you are accepted, you will need to submit another deposit of $500 within 10 working days of your acceptance. Failing to provide payment will result in forfetting your spot. You will need to keep open a reliable email address for messages so that we can be in touch with you requesting payment and updates.  The total balance is DUE on or before 01 April, 2017.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  You are not fully registered for the course until you have completely paid for the course.  For those waiting on financial aid, you must work through Ms. Roman to file the appropriate bursar forms.  We will not allow you to join us this summer until you are paid in full or have made financial aid arrangements with the bursar.

 

REFUND POLICY:

(1) If you are NOT ACCEPTED into the course, we will REFUND your $200 application fee.
 

(2) If you are ACCEPTED into the course, the $200 application check and the $500 deposit is NOT REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, but of course will be applied to the balance of your full payment.

 

(3) If you are ACCEPTED into the course and have paid in full, we will REFUND YOU HALF OF THE COURSE FEE (less the $200 application fee and $500 deposit) should you not be able to attend the course as long as we receive notification before 15 April, 2017.  In this case, should the student wish to attend camp the following year, we will apply the non-refunded balance towards the following year's payment.
 

(4) If you are ACCEPTED into the course and have paid in full, we will NOT REFUND YOU at all should you not be able to attend the course if we receive no notification or notification on or after 16 April, 2017. In this case, should the student wish to attend camp the following year, we will apply the non-refunded balance towards the following year's payment.
