Help scientists answer the question:

WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE ALEX, CONNOR, & DEVON (BALD EAGLES)?

The bald eagle is our national bird, but until recently it was close to extinction due to pollution in the environment where they lived and nested. It is still on the endangered species list, but the population of bald eagles is finally coming back, due to efforts of scientists and the government to help restore a healthy environment for these amazing birds.

But to make sure the places bald eagles like to live and nest are safe and healthy, scientists want to know where they are as they migrate in the spring, and where they will be at the end of their migration.

In this project, you will get to work with real scientific data to learn about the migration of four bald eagles named Alex, Connor, and Devon, and make predictions about their destinations.

Scientists have tagged these and other birds with radio transmitters that send a continuous signal telling us where they are at any given moment. Satellites pick up the signals and send them to us. In that way, we can track where each bird is, and where it has been.
