Local Transportation and Practical Information
The Visitor Information Center at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (also known as "SeaTac") is located in the Baggage Claim Area across from carousel 10. This is an excellent source of information and answers to your local transportation questions. Multilingual staff members are on hand to help with non-Engish-speaking travelers' problems.
From SeaTac:
NOTE: The exchange rates at the airport may not be as favorable as at a bank, but visitors should remember that most banks are not open on weekends and holidays. Early-arriving visitors also need to be aware that Friday, July 4th is a US national holiday (Independence Day).
The Thomas Cook Currency Exchange is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. It is on the SeaTac airport's main level near Concourse B.
There are many banks located in the downtown area. The US Bank, located at 1420 5th Avenue, is open weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM and exchanges all manner of foreign currencies.
The Seattle Airport Hilton is open 24 hours a day, and also offers a currency exchange.
